Take A Deeper Look at Our Operation

Just as the 2026 Vermont maple sugaring season was getting underway, we played host to “Across the Fence,” a 15-minute program broadcast every weekday on WCAX -TV during the noon hour. Co-produced by UVM Extension and WCAX, the local television program is the only one of its kind in the United States.

We were joined by longtime Senior Producer Keith Silva who toured our woods and our sugarhouse, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at how a modern-day maple sugaring operation is run.

As an aside, “Across the Fence” was inducted into the Vermont Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2025 – the same HOF class as our own Cecile Branon!
