Maple Apple Cookies

This tasty dessert combines two of Vermont’s signature natural ingredients — pure maple syrup and apples. Your favorite apple variety will do the trick, but we like Honeycrisp or classic McIntosh Red. These are great autumn treats!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup quick rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup maple sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups diced apples (any variety will work)
  • Confectioner sugar to taste

Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, oats, sugars, baking soda, vanilla, and cinnamon with softened butter. Fold in eggs and apples. Mix well.

Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes. After cooling, dust with confectioner sugar.
